Bulla! ki jaana mai kaun

Na mai momin vich maseet aan
Na mai vich kufar diyan reet aan
Na mai paakaan vich paleet aan

Na mai andar ved kitaab aan,
Na mai renda bhang sharaab aan

This poem is written by Sai Bulleh Shah who is talking to himself on behalf of Lord, Here Bulla means the seeker who is in search of Lord, and I is Lord who is telling where he is is and who is He,

I am not in Mosque,

I am not in rituals and traditions and ceramony which people follow to worship me,

I am not at clean place or at a beautiful sightseeing place

I am not moses (earlier saint) & I am not Pharoh ( ruler in ancient egypt)

Lord is telling to bulleh I am within you and you can reach me through meditation only,

I am not in any holy books, mere reading holy books you can not find me , bulleh shah has written one beautiful line in one of his another poem about reading holy books only that  Ilmoun bas kari oo yaar Eko Alif terey darkar Enough of learning, my friend! An alphabet should do for you. means repeat one word in your meditation for the remembrance of your lord. I am not in drugs or wines as well, I am not in intoxicated stage by achieving through worldly pleasure,I am not in the stage when you are fully awake and I am not in stage when you are sleeping.

Here Bulleh shah explaining the meditation stage when soul goes us at the eye center we feel intoxicated, so lord can be seen with meditation intoxication only not by worldly pleasure which makes us happy, Also that stage in meditation can be achieved when we are deep , we will not be fully awake and not sleeping that is middle stage between awake and sleep , so bulleh shah describe the meditation path and its stage to meet the Lord, also he want to explain mere reading will not give you knowledge, for inner knowledge you have to open your third eye which will fill you with knowledge, peace and joy.

In next stanza lord tell to bulleh shah that I am not in happiness and nor in sorrows means bulleh shah is talking about detachment which can be achieve through meditation, at higher level of meditation one get detached from worldly things and relationship so he do not feel sorrow and happiness, I am not in beautiful place which is clean or unclean, like people keep temple/mosque and churches etc very clean , then lord says I am not in water, I am not in earth , I am not in fire and I am not in air,, when we meditate before going to deep stage first we cross the Chakra which are in red, yellow, blue, green and purple color, so when you start meditate and you see this colors which represent five element fire, water, air, earth, space , so some sadhu when they see this color think they have seen lord light which bullah want to clear that initial chakra lights are not the light of lord.

 I am not from any country or city, I have no language and I am not rich or poor, I am also not receiving or hungry for any charity of religious places , I don't want   any money which devotee goes to temples/mosque and churches and give offering in my name, I am not the one because o him Adam and Eve did sin and were asked to leave the kingdom of paradise, and the worldly people are giving me many names like allah, waheguru, rabb, radhasaomi, akal purush, parmatma, etc, I have no name, only you people are giving and calling me with many names, I am only one , 

Bulleh shah want to say God is one , the supreme being , the power which can not be seen only can be feel and we can see his light and his rays through meditation only , he is not in religion , by going to temple, mosque, church and give offerings you will not find me, by calling me with many names also you will not find me, only when you take your attention at your eye center with closed eyes and open your third eye , you will reach me, No language, no prayer, no charity, no religion , no caste is required, only meditate, 

Now in the last stanza bullah shah explaining the final stage of meditation, where saint reaches and find that God is big light, LIke Ocean and we are small part of light of it which is always shines behind our eyes and by meditation if we see that light and follow it we will reach to lord, like jesus said if thy eye be single thy full body shall be full of light, so you have to meditate and reach to that light then you will understand that You have known about the lord that he is formless, truth, and One, then you will not recognize anyone else , you will become one with lord, you will merge with that god light, You will gain Lord knowledge and then you will be more knowledgeable person if you cover up your inner journey through meditation, finally Bullah look himself and says . Bullah himself who is standing is Lord, when we meditate and see the God light and merge with it , we become the form of God, then we see God everywhere, 

Guru Nanak also explain it very beautifully when you see God in all creatures, you have find the Lord, 

I am not messengers who are coming to the world time to time, I am One Supreme being to whom you have to worship through messenger of your own lifetime whom you have seen with your eyes, no need to worship past messenger or saint, to meet me you have to reach meditation that stage where you are neither awake nor sleeping, higher consciousness level you have to bring in meditation by regular practice, I am not in the beginning chakra of meditation when you start to see red, yellow, orange, green blue color light, you have to cross all these chakra,  I am also not in holy waters outside the world where you go and bathe and cleanse you, to clean you soul you have to go with in and there you will get bath in higher stage which will clean your soul, when you will reach to higher level of meditation you will recognize your self, and self realization only will lead you to God realization, YOu will understand that God is big light or Ocean and your small part of it or small drop of Ocean.
